Self Hypnotism Tutorial

Here are the hypnotism mp3s that I've made for myself and anyone that wants to use them. I may add more later. The anxiety one is for me personally, but you may like it too.

What Is Self Hypnosis?

Self hypnotism is basically focusing on what you want to accomplish. It happens often every day.... when you play computer games, drive along the road, watch tv, read a book, etc. These mp3s will guide you through entering a self hypnosis state where your concious mind is not available to block out suggestions.

Does this mean I can make you send me money or jump off a cliff? No. I can never MAKE you do anything. But if I can convince your mind to be still, and listen to suggestions, they will be more readily accepted.

When speaking to the subconscious, there is no barrier. In other words, if I say "you can do it!" your sub concious mind says... ok. Your concious mind might hear me say that you can do it, but it might add all kinds of excuses and reasons why you can't. The subconsious does not argue, it just listens, absorbs and forms foundations for your conscious mind later. It is not possible to force your foundations or do anything against your will. And, if you do not wish to do the suggestion in the first place, hypnotic suggestion will have absolutely zero effect.

But I don't want to Bok like a Chicken!

Me either, this isn't about that garbage.

Who Made These MP3s?

Brandon did! I'm not a doctor, and I'm not even that smart ;) I have been in martial arts for almost 25 years and hypnosis and meditation are so very similar. Hypnosis is something that I've done since I was a little boy. I've used hypnosis without even knowing what to call it. So, now I"m 31 years old and finally decided to do some research on what this is. This is mostly for myself, but I thought some of my friends might find it useful too.

What Is Hypnosis

You probably go into light hypnotic trances many times during the day and don't even realize it. Hypnosis is simply a heightened sense of awareness and extreme focus on an objective. There is actually an entire science devoted to "how to focus", and that's all that hpynosis is - focusing your subconcious mind in a way that blocks out interference from your concious mind.

Here are some classic examples of Self Hpynosis:

  • Deep Prayer
  • Reading a Book
  • Playing an Instrument
  • Driving
  • Cutting the Grass
  • Watching a Good Movie

The scientific approach to hypnotism has 3 main stages:

  • Relax
  • Focus
  • Wake Up

Omg! Hypnotism Is Witchcraft It Will Kill Me!

uh, no. Hypnotism is blocking out your worries, removing your mental barriers, and focusing on a certain thought.

It is not possible to "not wake up". If you go too deep in a trance, you simply sleep and wake up naturally.

It is not possible to be "stuck as a chicken". Even the most powerful of suggestions will only last a few hours to a few days (like if a hypnotist tries to make you forget). And it's not possible to be "stuck as a chicken" that's not how real hypnotism works.

What Is Hypnotism Like?

Remember when you were a kid and you played a game of make believe? Hypnotism is like make believe, but instead of fighting monsters, you focus on practical solutions to everyday problems that might be overwhelming otherwise.

It is possible to make your skin blister under hypnosis, and you can sweat, cry, or lose the ability to speak while in a trance. Sensations that are suggested become very very real and your body can have very realistic reactions. It's like reading a book that is SO scary that you tremble, or watching such a happy movie that you cry. You know it's not real, but it turns on your emotions anyway, and it seems real to you. You will know you are "dreaming" or "making believe" so you have the free will to "snap out" at any time, but most people do not have the desire to do so.

Hypnotism is a very relaxed state of mind, where your body is loose, relaxed, and your mind is dreamlike, but hyper attentive (you can focus with extreme precision).

Is Hypnosis Safe?

The only danger of hypnosis is if you are forced to deal with something that may be suppressed. Once it is let out, your concious mind may not be prepared to face it. For example, when I was 16 my first "love" died in a plane crash. I didn't react to it for several weeks, and then finally, I cried a very long time. If I had been forced to deal with it immediately, I might of become extremely depressed and even suicidal.

The concious mind is like a locked gate, it can keep thoughts in or out of your sub conscious. Hypnotism unlocks the gate and lets you have free access. For this reason, it is not wise to force anything, only the things you are ready to deal with anyway. For example, I want to stop playing computer games and be more productive ... hypnotism is perfect for that. Maybe you want to stop smoking but always find a reason to light up... again hypnotism can address the subconcious where normally it is not reachable.

Why Should I Care About Hypnosis?

Imagine always hearing good thoughts, positive thoughts, and never hearing yourself say "you can't do it" or "not right now", or whatever excuse you normally conjure to stop you from reaching your goals. Hypnotism can help you to make the voices you want quiet, and the voices you want to hear, very very loud.

What Do I Do?

You need about 30 minutes of time, every day. One session of hypnosis is about as useful as thinking about a goal once, then forgetting it. You need at least a few weeks, and the longer you can maintain it, the better your results will be. If you don't want to change something, then there is no point in listening to these mp3s, they are designed for change. For hypnosis to be effective, you need to have a strong desire to actually make progress.

Here is what you do:

  1. Get Winamp: http://www.winamp.com
  2. Download a relaxation script: relaxation-beach.mp3
  3. Download one of the "change" scripts
  4. Download the "wake up" script
  5. Play them in order: relax, change, wake up (I use winamp for this)

How Much Does It Cost?

This is free, just something I was studying and that I use for myself. The relaxation mp3 will help you go to sleep if you just want to use that.
