Alpha Waves
Alpha waves are characterized by a frequency range from 9 to 14 cycles per second. Alpha is the "rest" state, but still awake. Often assocatied with casual thought such as walking through a garden.
Alpha wave thought patterns are 95% to 100% subconscious. In this state a person's concious mind or worldly thoughts tend to dissappear and direct access to the subconcious mind begins.
All brain wave activity is measureable and the methods used to detect brain waves are called:
- EEG (electroencephalography)
- MEG (magnetoencephalography)
The brain waves are found mostly to originate from the occipal lobe during periods of relaxation.
